Welcome to Kashimura Udon

General Info

Tucked away in Takamatsu’s Yashima Nishimachi neighborhood, Kashimura Udon is the kind of place that quietly earns loyal fans through comforting bowls of udon and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. This udon noodle restaurant focuses on simple flavors done right, and from the moment you glance at the menu, it’s clear that the spotlight stays firmly on hearty, satisfying noodles.

One of the first dishes that caught my attention was the 冷やしぶっかけうどん肉トッピング. Served chilled with a generous meat topping, it’s refreshing yet deeply flavorful. The noodles have that perfect springy texture udon lovers look for, while the savory meat adds richness without overpowering the broth. It’s a great choice during lunch, especially if you’re stopping by for a quick solo dining experience.

Another comforting option on the menu is 肉玉子とじうどん. This bowl feels like classic comfort food-tender slices of meat and softly cooked egg wrapped around thick udon noodles in a warm broth. The balance between the egg and broth creates a silky texture that makes each bite satisfying. If you prefer something with a bit more depth, the 肉わかめうどん is also worth trying. The addition of wakame seaweed gives the dish a light ocean flavor that pairs surprisingly well with the savory meat.

For diners craving something bold, カレーうどん brings a different personality to the table. The curry broth is rich and aromatic, coating the noodles with a slightly spicy warmth that feels both filling and comforting. It’s the kind of dish that makes you slow down and enjoy every spoonful.

Beyond the noodles, the restaurant also offers small bites that complement the meal nicely. A simple plate of おでん の 豆腐 と こんにゃく is a great example-soft tofu and chewy konnyaku simmered gently, delivering subtle flavors that pair perfectly with udon.

The overall experience at this location feels easy and convenient. The restaurant provides delivery for those who want to enjoy the food at home, while the dining space itself is comfortable for solo dining or a relaxed lunch break. Practical amenities like a restroom and a free parking lot make visiting even smoother, especially if you’re exploring the area by car.

What stands out most about Kashimura Udon is how genuine the experience feels. The menu stays focused, the flavors are honest, and the setting encourages you to simply sit down and enjoy a bowl of well-made udon. Reviews from visitors often mention that same feeling: straightforward food, warm service, and a dependable spot in Takamatsu for a satisfying noodle meal.

“ Kashimura Udon For locals, the original Baka Ichidai is Kashimura Udon! A nice guy shop that insists on hand-made udon, yet with a self-service system, the value for money is incredible. With udon noodles starting at ¥280, it's definitely worth waiting in line 15 minutes before opening. I just happened to be working nearby, so I was the first one there to get the Hatsugama udon (σ´∀`)σ Yuck! Shippoku Udon ¥650 + Meat Platter ¥150 This little bit of meat is a unique feature of Kashimura Udon, and can be added as a topping. This solves the problem of having a hearty meat udon that can overpower the broth with the sweetness of the meat!! Now, let's try the little meat shippoku. One of its characteristics is that it's originally topped with ginger, and the taste is suddenly in its final form. The Gachi Niku Udon that my partner was eating was so meaty that it was insanely meaty, and it looks like the extent to which he can control himself will be a point of contention. Purely hand-made udon means that every step is done by hand, and it's a rare sight even in Udon Prefecture. The firm wheat is packed tightly and the flavor is strong, and it was truly delicious!! It's been a while since I've felt so unsatisfied even after I'd finished eating it; I can't really describe it, but it was so delicious I almost vomited. ”

“ I visited for lunch and had a large bowl of cold meat udon. The meat and udon were very filling and delicious. The service was friendly and good. I'd like to come again. ”

“ It's always exciting to go to an udon restaurant for the first time. I order at the counter instead of self-service. I try the Niku Waka Udon. Mmm, it was piping hot, filling and delicious. ”

“ Unlike traditional men's noodles, these were flat noodles similar to Kishimen noodles. I've been eating Sanuki udon for over 40 years, but this was the first time I'd tried them and they were delicious. They had probably every type of manga from weekly magazines like Young Magazine, with the latest issues on the lineup. I think that's unusual for an udon restaurant. ”

“ Meat and egg udon (small) ¥650. It was served piping hot, but the unevenly sized noodles still retained their firmness. There wasn't much meat, but it had just the right amount of texture for meat udon. It was topped with grated ginger, but you can add it later if you like. ”

“ This udon restaurant is located in a corner of a tenant building. On Saturday, it was full within 10 minutes of opening! ・Meat-filled Bukkake (warm udon noodles), small, 550 yen ・Kitsunaka (sweet udon noodles), small, 500 yen ・Oden (oden), 130 yen x 3 pieces The noodles are slightly thick and chewy! They're hand-cut, so the slight variations in thickness add to the flavor. The meat was also tender and delicious! ”

“ It was my first time there, but the soup was delicious and I was very satisfied. I had the large meat and egg udon, and the noodles were very chewy and satisfying. I added some sudachi citrus to change the flavor, and the sourness made it even more delicious!! ”

- レオン軍曹 -

“ I had the Kake Udon. The noodles were medium-thick, but perhaps because they were hand-cut, the thickness varied, giving it a texture that I never got tired of. They had a firm texture. ”
